One Miami Weekend Draws More Than 5,000 to Millett Hall

OXFORD, Ohio—The RedHawks' popular One Miami Weekend returned to Millett Hall this past Saturday for a basketball doubleheader. The women's basketball matchup against Akron and the following men's game against Kent State drew a combined crowd of more than 5,000 people. The attendance was comprised largely of Miami faculty and staff members in an outreach effort to all Miami campuses.
Miami University employees had their tickets provided by President Greg and Dr. Renate Crawford for both games. Attendees were treated to a Carnival on the Concourse and a performance by the Indiana Pacers' Power Pack dunk team. Members of the Miami men's and women's teams also signed autographs for fans on the court at the conclusion of the event.
The One Miami celebration continues later this month during Miami Hockey's home series vs. North Dakota. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27 at Steve "Coach" Cady Arena for a nationally televised game on CBS Sports Network, with the series finale set for 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 to finish off a Miami Athletics tripleheader. Tickets for Miami Women's Basketball, Miami Men's Basketball and Miami Hockey are on sale now.
