Riano Competes at NCAA Championships

Miami's Carmen Riano competed at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships this week in Eugene, Oregon. She was one of 24 athletes running in the women's 3000m steeplechase Thursday. Riano finished eighth in her semifinal and 14th overall with a time of 9:48.81, just missing qualifying for the 12-person final Saturday night. Riano was less than two seconds off the school record (9:46.91, which she set in the East Prelims last month).
