RedHawks Finish First and Second at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational

CINCINNATI, Ohio— The RedHawks had a strong showing at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational at the University of Cincinnati on Saturday. The men's track and field team placed first with 164 points and the women's squad placed second with 105 points for the day.

The RedHawks continue their outdoor season at the Tennessee Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. on Thursday, April 7.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the field, Ryan Smith captured first place in the discus with a throw of 51.66m and first place in the shot put with a throw of 16.72m. Dawson Wervey placed first in the triple jump with a jump of 13.88m. On the women's side, Taylor Manley placed first in the triple jump as well with a jump of 12.08m.
- The 3000-meter steeplechase race was a big point-grabber for the men and women's teams. Julia Rushing captured first place for the women with a time of 10:41.71. Dan Conway also finished in first place for the men with a time of 9:09.19.
- Charlie Harders added to the first-place finishes for Miami in the 1500-meter race with a time of 3:48.03. Sarah Bruns had a great 400-meter hurdles run finishing in first with a time of 1:01.47.
- The 4x400-meter relay teams for both the men and women had impressive performances. The men's squad of Eman Alfred, Leo Bouldin, John Wetula, and Luke Finnegan placed first with a time of 3:19.25. The women's squad of Erasmus, Sarah Bruns, Abby Suszek, and Faith Baxter finished second with a time of 3:50.20 to end the day.
The RedHawks continue their outdoor season at the Tennessee Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. on Thursday, April 7.
