Indoor Track Has Impressive Showing at Ashland Alumni Open

ASHLAND, Ohio— The RedHawks had a strong showing on the track at Ashland University, as the Miami track and field teams had big finishes during the indoor competition on Saturday.

The RedHawks continue their indoor season at the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn. on Friday, February 11.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Faith Baxter took fourth place in the women's 400-meter with a time of 57.96. Baxter alongside teammates Gabby Cossio, Marta Cepeda Perez, and Abigail Brown captured second place in the women's 4x400 relay with a time of 3:52.31, just .2 seconds behind the leader.
- The distance squad had an impressive performance on the track tonight. Perez had a strong individual performance as well finishing third in the 800-meter race at 2:15.84. Carmen Riano captured second place in the 1-mile with a time of 4:54.03. Lotti Roemer had a great showing in the 3000-meter race with a time of 9:42.28 to wrap up the individual events on the track.
- The men's distance team also had a great showing on the track Saturday afternoon. Conall McGinness finished the 3000-meter event in second place with a time of 8:20.47. Max Manley scored second place with a time of 1:52.36 in the 800-meter race just .05 seconds behind the leader.
- On the field, Taylor Manley competed in the triple jump, finishing in third with a jump of 11.23m. Sydney Jefferson was the top RedHawk in the weight throw, clearing a distance of 18.35m to finish in third.
The RedHawks continue their indoor season at the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn. on Friday, February 11.
