Miami Athletics Shines in Graduation Success Rate Once Again

The NCAA recently released graduation success rates among all programs, and Miami University student-athletes have some of the best success rates in the country. Miami student-athletes have a four-class average of 96-percent in Graduation Success Rate (GSR), the highest score in school history.

Golf, hockey, women's basketball, soccer, women's swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball all had a four-year average with a 100 percent graduation rate.

The student-athlete graduation rate calculated directly based on IPEDS-GRS (which is the methodology the U.S. Department of Education requires) is the proportion of first-year, full-time student-athletes who entered a school on athletics aid and graduated from that institution within six years. This federal rate does not account for students who transfer from their original institution and graduate elsewhere.Â
The 2021 spring academic year saw Miami boast a 3.26 departmental accumulative GPA, with 69.2 percent of student-athletes earning above a 3.0 GPA and 54 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.
