
Eight Top-Three Finishes for Miami on Final Day at Gladstein

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The first of two straight weekends at Indiana was wrapped up by the Miami track and field team Saturday as the RedHawks competed in the last day of the Gladstein Invitational.
The RedHawks compiled a total of eight top-three finishes on the day.
Olivia Bechtel, after taking fifth in the 60m dash yesterday, had an even better showing Saturday in the 200m. She ran a 24.43 for second place in the event. Emily Akin also had a PR over in the 800, as her run of 2:11.7 garnered her a third-place finish and made it back-to-back weekends with PRs.
The RedHawk women also did well in the relays, taking third in both the 4x400 and the 4x800. Sarah Bruns and Gabby Maslowski joined Akin and Bechtel in the 4x4, while Carmen Riano, Jordan Grant, Elena Pazman, and Jenna Sayle ran the 4x8.
In the field, Hannah Bush finished second in the high jump with a height of 1.60m. Hannah Falcione and Bruns both took top-ten in the long jump, while Grace Rigel was Miami's best performer in the shot put.
For the RedHawk men, Jeremiah Hunter continued his good weekend in the 200 with a 22.31 run for third place. Sean Torpy took Miami's sole event win of the weekend as he was victorious in the 800 with a time of 1:50.10. The men's squad finished sixth and third in the 4x400 and 4x800 respectively.
