Lins de Mello Wins 200 Free on Day Three of the MAC Championships

She broke the school record and meet record.
AKRON, Ohio – The Miami University women's swimming and diving team competed in the third of four days of the MAC Championship on Friday. The RedHawks are in fourth place with 230 points after Friday's competition.
Camila Lins de Mello broke her fourth school record in three days as she became the MAC Champion in the 200 free (1:45.47). This was also a meet record. In the 100 back, Izzy Herb broke the school record and finished fifth (53.65).
In addition to Lins de Mello, the RedHawks had four other swimmers earn points in the 200 free. Ella Moynihan was the runner up in the 200 free (1:45.71). Molly Zilch (1:49.81), Claire Doerr (1:50.36) and Duda Seifer (1:52.05) also earned points for the RedHawks in the 200 free, finishing 10th, 14th and 16th, respectively.
In the 400 IM, Hannah Fuchs finished seventh (4:19.71). Alexandra Spaczay won the consolation final to finish ninth overall (4:17.47). Carolyn Jungers (4:24.42) and Bia Dizotti (4:28.00) also earned points, finishing 14th and 16th respectively.
Kayleigh Cannon finished seventh in the 100 fly (54.41). Abby Stone (55.21) and Allison Pierce (55.58) finished 11th and 14th, respectively.
Anna Martin led the RedHawks with an eighth-place finish in the 100 breast (1:02.10). Anna Justinak finished 15th (1:03.69).
Miami wrapped up the day with a sixth-place finish in the 400 medley relay (3:41.17). The RedHawks' relay team was made up of Herb, Martin, Cannon and Lins de Mello.
On Saturday, swimming prelims for the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast and the 200 fly will begin at 10:30 a.m. Senior recognition will take place at 6:15 p.m., immediately before the finals, which are at 6:40 p.m. After the competition concludes, the championship awards will be presented, starting at approximately 9:25 p.m.
