
Former Miami Coach Bill Mallory Passes Away

Update: Memorial services for Bill Mallory will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church (219 East 4th Street, Bloomington, Indiana 47408). A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Indiana University Memorial Stadium (1001 East 17th Street Bloomington, Indiana 47408). Visitation will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory (4155 South Old State Road 37, Bloomington, Indiana 47401).
OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami Athletics is saddened to learn of the passing of former football player and coach Bill Mallory.
Mallory, a 1980 Miami Hall of Fame inductee, was a three-time letter winner for Miami from 1954-56 and earned All-Mid-American Conference honors twice while leading the Red & White to a pair of MAC titles under head coach Ara Parseghian.
As Miami's head coach from 1969-73, Mallory amassed a 39-12 record, including a perfect 11-0 record in his final season on the sidelines. He went on to coach at Colorado, Northern Illinois and Indiana, finishing his career with a 162-113-4 overall record.
In addition to being inducted into Miami's Hall of Fame in 1980, Mallory was inducted into the Cradle of Coaches in 1995.
