
Men Continue to Impress

OXFORD, Ohio ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃÆ'¢'¬" The Miami University men's swimming and diving team is currently in third place with 480 points after three days of competition at the 2018 MAC Championships.
The men competed in the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 3-mtr dive consolation and the 400 medley relay. The 3-mtr dive consolation points will be included in tomorrow's final stats with the 3-mtr dive finals.
Kayky Mota was the runner-up in the 400 IM (3:51.00). James McGuire finished seventh (3:56.03) and Ross Rybakowicz finished ninth (3:56.77).
Iago Moussalem touched the wall second in the 100 fly (47.26), with Spencer Klinsky (9th, 48.76) and Peter Simcox (10th, 48.85) rounding out the top 10.
Gordon Wheeler (1:38.03), Diego Gonzalez Valentim (1:38.22) and Justin Andrews (1:38.29) finished four-five-six in the 200 free. Austin Theobald (13th, 1:40.08) and Nick Ward (14th, 1:40.09) also earned points for the RedHawks.
Thomas Blackstone (Hutch) finished second in the 100 breast (52.87), while Noah Barr finished sixth (54.95) and Blake Brockman finished 13th (57.00).
In the 100 back, Peter Simcox and James Wray finished in sixth (48.88) and seventh (48.99), respectively. Jake Precious finished 12th (49.76).
Sam Wiedemann scored fourth in the 3-mtr dive consolation round (277.60).
The RedHawks' 400 medley relay team finished third (3:13.12). Wray, Blackstone, Moussalem and Ward were on the relay.
On Saturday, the 2018 men's MAC Championships concludes with the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 3-mtr dive final, 400 free relay and the championship awards.
