
Men's MAC Championship Preview

OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami University men's swimming and diving team hosts the Mid-American Conference Championships from Wednesday, February 28 through Saturday, March 3.
On Wednesday evening, athletes will compete for the 200 Medley Relay and the 800 Freestyle Relay. On all other days, preliminary heats will begin at 10:30 a.m. and finals will begin at 6:30 p.m., with diving preliminaries taking place on Thursday and Friday at 1:00 p.m. The first heat of the 1650 Freestyle time finals will begin at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
The RedHawks were picked to finish third in the league's preseason poll. Miami enters the MAC Championships with a 2-4 record in dual meets and a third-place finish at the Miami Invitational. In 2017, the RedHawks finished fourth at the MAC Championships while Eastern Michigan won by one point over Missouri State.
The cost of admission for adults is $12 for a single session and $34 for all sessions. Students (K-12) are $6 for a single session and $16 for all sessions. All MAC students (with a student ID) as well as children under five are free for all sessions. Doors will open to the public one hour prior to the first event of each session.

OPPONENTS
Ball State: The Cardinals hold a 1-5 record in dual meets entering the MAC Championships, 0-3 of that coming in conference meets. Ball State also finish second at the Eastern Michigan Invitational and fourth at the Butler Invitational.
Eastern Michigan: The Eagles are one of the favorites to win the MAC Championship, according to the preseason poll. Eastern Michigan finishes the season with a 7-1 record in dual meets, 2-0 in MAC meets. The Eagles also finished first at the EMU Invitational.
Evansville: The Purple Aces finished the season with a 2-4 record in dual meets and a 1-3 record in conference meets.
Missouri State: The Bears are the other favorite to win the MAC Championship, according to the preseason poll. Missouri State finished with a 5-1 record in dual meets and a 2-0 record against conference opponents. The Bears finished second at the Missouri Show-Me Showdown and fifth at the Purdue Invitational.
Southern Illinois: The Salukis are 3-1 in dual meets this season, 2-1 in MAC meets. Southern Illinois finished third at the Butler Invite, fourth at the Saluki Invite and sixth at the Purdue Invite.
