
Red and White Meet A Success

OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami University swimming and diving team opened its season with the annual intrasquad meet on Saturday morning.
The Red and White meet was the first meet for the large freshman class, resulting in six freshman event winners. Many of the returning swimmers and divers had impressive swims as well. The meet attracted a large amount of community support.
Junior Ryan Nash and NCAA Runner-Up Pei Lin swept the diving contests, winning both the 1m and 3m.
Senior Holly Schuster and freshman Noah Barr swept the breaststroke events.
Sophomore Izzy Herb swept the backstroke events for the women. Junior Jake Precious won the 100 backstroke and freshman Martin Nitzken won the 200 backstroke event for the men.
Red-shirted senior Elise Campbell won the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle events for the women. Sophomore Nick Ward won the 50 freestyle and senior Ross Westrick won the 100 freestyle for the men. Freshman Gordon Wheeler won the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle events for the men. Junior Ella Moynihan won the 200 freestyle and sophomore Emma Bradley won the 500 freestyle for the women.
Freshman Kayleigh Cannon swept the fly events for the women. Sophomore Iago Moussalem do Amaral won the 100 fly and freshman Spencer Klinsky won the 200 fly for the men.
Senior Holly Schuster and senior Ross Rybakowicz won the 200 IM.
The Miami men and women begin the regular season on Friday, Oct. 13 as they host Purdue for a 3 p.m. meet.
