Men's MAC Championships are Underway

CARBONDALE, Ill. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃÆ'¢'¬" The Miami University men's swimming and diving team is currently in fourth following day one of the 2017 Mid-American Conference Championships.
Competition opened up with the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard freestyle relay.
James Wray, Hutch Blackstone, Pete Simcox and Nick Ward kicked off the night with the 200-yard medley relay. The team clocked in at 1:28.45, earning fourth place and 30 points for the RedHawks. Their time beat the previous school record of 1:29.95 set at the 2015 MAC Championships.
The Miami men also came in fourth in the 800-yard freestyle relay from the efforts of Lucas Brock, Jack Strauss, Ross Westrick and Justin Andrews. The four touched the wall in 6:34.79, crushing the previous school record of 6:37.69 that was set in at the 2002 MAC Championships.
Prelims will start tomorrow at 11 a.m. and finals at 7 p.m. central time.
The events that will be run tomorrow are the 500-yard freestyle relay, 200-yard IM, 50-yard freestyle, one-meter dive and 200-yard freestyle relay.
