RedHawks Fall to GSU Panthers, 6-1

Juniors Nelli Ponomareva and Anastasiia Vasiukhina fell in the No. 1 doubles position to GSU's Tarani Kamoe and Arina Taluyenko, (7-6), after battling it out in a tiebreaker, (7-2). The RedHawks rallied in the No. 2 flight where sophomores Emily Struble and Anzhelika Shapovalova defeated Kristin Rehse and Damira Muminovic, (6-2).
Ponomareva dropped a match in the No. 1 singles position against GSU's Taluyenko, (6-4, 0-6, 6-4). Shapovalova fought hard against her Panther rival, Daniela Ramirez, but ultimately fell, (6-4,7-5). Struble put the RedHawks on the board with her win over Lara Vovk in straight sets, (6-3, 6-1). Vasiukhina took on Muminovic, but dropped the decision, (6-2, 6-2). Newcomer sophomore Abby Brady took on Anastasia Grosheva, but fell, (6-0, 7-5).
Miami returns tomorrow to face off with the Louisville Cardinals at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center at 11 a.m.
