OXFORD, Ohio ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃÆ'¢'¬" The Miami University swimming and diving team competed in the third and final day of the Miami Invitational on Saturday.
The Miami women finished the meet with 1,480 points while the Miami men finished with 762. The women divers competed in the 1-mtr and the men competed in the 3-mtr. The diving scores are not factored into the team scores.
The women's strongest event was the 200 Fly. Kayleigh Cannon claimed first place (2:02.89) and Brianna Alexander claimed second (2:03.77).
The Miami women had two top-four finishes in the 1650 Free, 200 Back and 200 Breast. In the 1650 Free, Emma Bradley finished second (16:36.87) and Ella Moynihan finished third (16:48.68). In the 200 Back, Izzy Herb finished second (2:00.06) and Hannah Fuchs finished fourth (2:01.19). In the 200 Breast, Holly Schuster placed second (2:14.93) and Elise Campbell placed third (2:15.04).
Campbell, Moynihan, Anna Justinak and Molly Zilch finished second in the 400 Free Relay (3:25.38).
Nicholas Ward (Nick), Gordon Wheeler, James Wray and Ross Westrick finished fifth in the 400 Free Relay for the men (3:03.89).
Spencer Klinsky placed fourth in the 200 Fly (1:51.19). Thomas Blackstone (Hutch) finished fifth in the 200 Breast (2:04.74).
Pei Lin dove her way into second place in the 1-mtr diving finals (321.20). Madison Folta (Maddie) qualified for the consolation round. For the men, Ryan Nash, Harrison Moncino and Sam Wiedemann all qualified to dive in the consolations. Nash finished second (319.00) with Moncino right behind him (300.20).
