Red and White Conclude Kentucky Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Miami University track and field team competed in the Kentucky Invitational Friday and Saturday.
Miami's best running performance came from junior Allison Klonne, who took seventh in the one mile with a time 5:00.93. In the 400m dash, sophomore Kalliopi Kountouri placed 12th with a time of 56.71. Kalliopi teamed up with freshman Elizabeth Lakamp, senior Alexus Jimson-Miller, and junior Morgan Rice to take 11th in the 4x400m relay.
The RedHawks were led in field events by senior Amelia Strickler, whose shot put toss of 53-6 netted her third place. Senior Arionna Darling also landed in the top-10, as her shot put of 48-7 earned her seventh. The `Hawks placed two in the top-15 in the weight throw, as sophomore Katie Walter and senior Ashley Frahm finished ninth and 11th, respectively. Walter recorded a personal-best 56-5 throw, while Frahm's travelled 53-4.
The Red and White now turn their focus to the Gladstein Invitational, hosted by Indiana, which will take place January 20-21.
