Miami Begins First Season as Combined Program

OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami University's swimming and diving team will open up their 2016-17 campaign on Saturday, Oct. 8th at 1 p.m. at Wright State University. The meet will be held at the WSU Natatorium.
This is the first meet that the Red and White will swim as a combined program under head coach, Hollie Bonewit-Cron and three new assistants, Jack Eichenlaub, Keith Dawley and Jeb Halfacre. Diving coach KongRong Li is back for his tenth season with the RedHawks.
The women finished fifth at the MAC Championships and had a 4-5 record in dual meets. The men also took home fifth at the MAC Championships and ended the season with a 2-5 dual-meet record.
Look for seniors Lucas Brock and Stephanie LeMire to lead the team after winning three events each in the intrasqaud meet.
Transfer student-athletes Ella Moynihan (Notre Dame) and Abby Stone (Virginia Tech) will compete for the first time as RedHawks after excelling in the Red and White meet.
Wright State is led by Kyle Oaks, who is entering his fourth year at the helm. His men's and women's teams both finished third in the Horizon League Championships last season.
The Raiders most recently competed in the Butler Double Dual last Saturday, Oct. 2. The men's team swept Saint Louis, Valparaiso, Western Illinois and Xavier. The women's team finished 4-1, defeating Butler, Saint Louis, Valparaiso and Western Illinois. They lost to only Xavier.
