Tim Winans: 2015-16 Hall of Fame Member

Dec. 10, 2015 One of the most decorated swimmers in Miami men's swimming and diving history, Tim Winans '85 was a 10-time MAC Champion for the Red and White from 1982-85. A breaststroke specialist, Winans was undefeated at the MAC Championships in the 100 breaststroke during his MU career and captured three MAC titles in the 200 breaststroke (1982, 1983, 1984). He also was a part of three MAC Championship relays, helping Miami to titles in the 400 medley relay in 1982, 1984 and 1985. Winans was a three-time NCAA Qualifier and U.S. Senior National Qualifier who also competed in the 1984 Olympic Trials in the 100 breaststroke.
Winans is one of seven members joining the Hall of Fame this weekend. He is joined by Colleen Day '04 (women's basketball), Damon Frierson '99 (men's basketball), Bob Gardner '78 (men's tennis), Jill Kohrs '84 (volleyball), Doug Krause '72 (football) and Kirk Springs '82 (football).
