Miami Athletes of the Week

OXFORD, Ohio -- For their performances last week junior football defensive lineman JT Jones and senior volleyball middle hitter Jenny Ingle are Miami's Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 2-8.
Jones had one of the best defensive games in RedHawk football history, finishing a 28-13 win over Eastern Michigan with a career-high seven tackles and four sacks. His four sacks set a new school record and was tied for the seventh best single-game total in MAC history. Jones was named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
This is the second time this season and second time in his career that Jones has been named Miami's Male Athlete of the Week. He last won it for the week of Oct. 19-25.
Ingle was a force defensively, finishing with seven blocks on the weekend (three solo and four assisted), while altering several other shots with her presence at the net. She averages 1.17 blocks per set. That included recording six blocks (two solo and four assisted) in the 3-0 win over Buffalo. Ingle had an incredible performance attacking as well. She finished with 18 total kills in 23 attempts. She didn't make a single attack error, finishing with an unbelievable hitting percentage of .783. Averaging 3.0 kills per set, she recorded seven in the win over Akron and 11 in the victory over Buffalo. Ingle scored 23.0 points on the weekend, which was second on the RedHawks.
This is the first time this season and third time in her career that Ingle has been named Miami's Female Athlete of the Week. She last won it for the week of Sept. 2-8, 2013.
The next Miami Athletes of the Week will be announced Monday, Nov. 16.
