Brockelbank Named Associate AD for Communications and Administration

Miami University Athletics Director David Sayler announced that Steve Brockelbank has been named Associate Athletic Director for Communications and Administration. Brockelbank spent the past two years at Miami as the Associate Athletics Director for Football Operations.
"I would like to thank David Sayler for this opportunity and I am looking forward to continuing to work toward our mission and vision of Graduating Champions," said Brockelbank. "I also want to thank Coach Martin for providing my family and I the initial opportunity to come to Miami and become a part of this special and unique university."
Brockelbank will oversee the communication and broadcasting departments as well as supervision of football, women's basketball, human resources and camps.
"Steve has been a tremendous asset to our Athletics Senior Leadership team and I am excited for him to take on added responsibilities for us," said Sayler. "Everyone here at Miami that has worked with Steve have all commented positively on his professionalism, focus and analytical skills which will aid us greatly in our mission to Graduating Champions."
Prior to his arrival in Oxford, Ohio, Brockelbank spent six seasons as the Assistant Director/Assistant Principal at Ludington High School from 2007-14. He was also the offensive coordinator for the football team during that time.
Prior to Ludington he spent three seasons (2004-07) as the assistant head coach/offensive line coach at Grand Valley State University, helping to win national championships in 2005 and 2006. Other positions Brockelbank has held were head football coach at Ludington High School (1999-04), offensive coordinator (97-99)/offensive line coach (1994-99) at Hillsdale College and offensive line coach at Wayne State from 1992-94.
Brockelbank was a three-year letter-winner as an offensive lineman at Eastern Michigan, earning second-team honors in 1990 and first-team honors in 1989. He graduated from EMU in 1991 and received his master's degree in education from Spring Arbor College in 1998. He added a second master's degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University in 2015.
Brockelbank and his wife, Heidi, have three daughters: Hayley, Madisyn and Morgan.
