OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami University's intercollegiate athletics department is celebrating Military Appreciation Day on Nov. 7, when the RedHawks football team plays Eastern Michigan at 2:30 p.m.
Military personnel with a valid ID and their families will receive tickets to the game for $10. These tickets can be purchased at any ticket booth around Yager Stadium on game day or at the Millett Hall athletic ticket office prior to Nov. 7. Military personnel will also receive a voucher for a free popcorn and drink at the contest versus the Eagles.
Fans can join in on the excitement as well. Throughout the week, the Miami University Bookstore and DuBois Book Store will be selling merchandise with the Stars and Stripes logo. The items for sale include shirts and hats. RedHawks coaches and players will be wearing some of the items on game day. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Miami students with military service.
Starting on Monday, Nov. 2, and running through Friday, Nov. 6, the RedHawks will tweet images of Miami merchandise hidden on campus, along with a clue to its location. The first fan to find the item will win the prize. Make sure to follow @MiamiRedHawks and @MiamiOHFootball on Twitter or the Miami athletics official Facebook Page to qualify for this contest.
Those looking to purchase/donate a ticket for military personnel can do so by calling Bryan Avolio at (513) 529-3788.
