The Mid-American Conference office announced its All-MAC team on Wednesday, Dec. 3, with five Miami University RedHawks earning honors. Quinten Rollins (first-team), David Frazier (second-team), Andrew Hendrix (third-team), Zach Lewis (third-team) and Fred McRae IV (third-team) were honored by the league’s coaches this morning.
Rollins, who was also named MAC Defensive Player of the Year, finished the season with 72 tackles, seven interceptions, nine pass breakups, one forced fumble and 4.0 tackles for loss. His seven interceptions match a Miami single season record and are tied for third most nationally.
Frazier finished the 2014 season with 59 receptions for 949 yards and five touchdowns, all career-bests for the senior. He was twice named MAC Offensive Player of the Week following contests versus Cincinnati (5-162-2) and Akron (9-132-2). He had four 100-yard games this season which ranks fourth in Miami history and had at least five receptions in eight games this season.
Hendrix, a fifth-year transfer from Notre Dame completed 222-of-458 passes for 3,280 yards (fifth in Miami history) and 23 touchdowns (sixth in Miami history), while throwing just nine interceptions and adding 324 yards on the ground and six rushing scores. Hendrix’s most memorable performance was in a 42-41 win versus UMass to help snap a 21-game losing streak. Versus the Minutemen he completed 32-of-58 passes for 437 yards and four touchdowns while adding 91 yards and a score on the ground. He was later named the Capital One National Performer of the Week for his efforts versus UMass.
Lewis started all 12 games this season as Miami’s left tackle and has started 40 games during his RedHawk career.
McRae earned third-team All-MAC honors as a return specialist. He averaged 8.4 yards per return on punts and 21.0 on kickoffs. McRae opened the season with a 54-yard punt return versus Marshall and had a 74-yard kickoff return against Western Michigan.
