DES MOINES, Iowa - Miami University senior Kelley Miller set the school record for the second time in the 1500m run Saturday evening at the famed Drake Relays, held at Drake Stadium. She was one of three RedHawks who competed at the Drake Relays, as sophomore Tori Paterra and senior Alexandra Roberts threw in their events Friday. The rest of the Miami women's track and field team competed at its own RedHawk Invitational Saturday.
Miller (Dublin, Ohio) clocked 4:23.64 in the race, topping her previous-best mark of 4:24.71, which she set earlier this year when she first broke the school record. She finished seventh in the race in a field of 20. Nebraska's Ashley Miller won the race in a Drake Relays record of 4:15.61, which ranks in the top 10 nationally.
Miller and the RedHawks have one final tune-up before the Mid-American Conference Championships as Miami competes at the Billy Hayes Invitational, hosted by Indiana University, Friday, May 4 in Bloomington, Ind.
