Frick Adds to Lifelong Miami Commitment

OXFORD, Ohio -- A $100,000 gift from Ray Frick (Miami '68) is supporting Miami University's Football Restricted Fund while also increasing the impact of the undergraduate athletic training scholarship named in honor of Frick's brother.
Frick's previous support of Miami has funded the Ron Frick Sports Medicine/Rehabilitation Center within Withrow Court, created the Ron Frick Scholarship for Undergraduate Athletic Trainers, provided leadership in the installation of Yager Stadium's FieldTurf playing surface and included extensive general support of Miami Football and the Red & White Club.
"Miami University is a great institution that holds a lot of great memories for me," Frick said. "There are good people at Miami, and they do college athletics the right way. I'm proud to say Miami is my university, and I will always be committed to supporting Miami."
The Football Restricted Fund provides funding for Head Coach Don Treadwell to address the football program's priorities. Frick played one season of football at Miami under Bo Schembechler. The Ron Frick Scholarship for Undergraduate Athletic Trainers provides annual scholarship support for one or more student trainers who work on Miami's sports medicine staff. It is named for Frick's late brother, who received a partial scholarship as a student trainer at Miami in the 1960s.
A native of Toledo, Ohio, Frick is the founder, president and CEO of the growing Fricker's restaurant franchise, which currently includes 20 locations in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. Known for its hospitality and family-friendly atmosphere, the Fricker's team is also committed to positively impacting the communities in which they live. In addition to Frick's personal support of Miami, Fricker's hosts annual golf outings that benefit the university.

Frick's support adds to the $500-million Miami University Campaign For Love and Honor, which, as the university's most successful fund-raising campaign, has raised more than $435 million in support of Miami's priority needs.
