Both swimming teams and the women's track and field team have MAC Championships on the horizon as well. Lots going on -- including an extra day in 2012 -- before March Madness begins.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Last Week: Miami (7-14, 3-6) put together its first winning streak of the season by sweeping a pair of games against West Division teams. In overtime, Miami added another 16 points to earn the thrilling 62-57 win. Senior forward Julian Mavunga nearly registered a triple-double, leading the way with 19 points, 19 rebounds and eight assists. (RECAP) Saturday afternoon, the RedHawks set the tone by jumping out to a 16-point halftime lead, then held on for a 59-53 victory at Ball State. Freshman guard Brian Sullivan led all scorers with 18 points, while Mavunga tallied his 13th double-double on the season and 27th for his career with 10 points and 10 boards. (RECAP) The week started with another positive note as Sullivan was named MAC Freshman of the Month for January.
