NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- For the second straight day, the Miami tennis team came up short against a ranked opponent, falling to No. 68 Memphis 7-0 on Sunday. Unlike the Vanderbilt match yesterday, the RedHawks were unable to gain a victory among the nine matches.
Miami (0-2) won only 10 of the 34 games in doubles play with an 8-6 loss by Stephanie Danesis and Jessica Parr being the closest margin. Each of the doubles matches were in straight sets, although Alix Thurman forced a first-set tiebreaker.
The RedHawks return to action next Saturday when it opens the home slate against Xavier at 2 p.m. at Riverside Racquet Club.
