Three teams won their home invitationals amidst a flurry of home events last weekend while one other was on its way to winning its home tournament before inclement weather hit.

VOLLEYBALL
Last Week: The RedHawks (8-2) went 3-0 last weekend to capture the Miami Best Western/Sycamore Inn Invitational. Led by Cassie Farrell's career-high 20 kills, Miami inched out a thrilling five-set win over Florida Gulf Coast on Friday. (RECAP) (PHOTO GALLERY) On Saturday morning, the RedHawks captured a four-set decision against Radford. (RECAP) Later that evening in the final match of the tournament, Miami downed Alabama A&M in three sets to win its second tournament of the season. (RECAP) (PHOTO GALLERY) Amy Raseman was tabbed Tournament MVP, while Cassie Farrell, Jenn Caylor and Meg Riley were named to the All-Tournament Team. This Week: Miami hits the road for a Tuesday match at Wright State at 7 p.m. before heading south for the Tar Heel Classic Friday and Saturday. Miami faces Saint Louis at 4:30 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, the RedHawks battle host North Carolina at noon and Tulsa at 5:30 p.m.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
Last Week: Senior Courtney Clarke scored with less than four minutes to play to break a 1-1 deadlock and give the Miami (3-2-0) a 2-1 victory over Tennessee-Martin Friday in its own RedHawk Shootout Tournament. (RECAP) The RedHawks' game against East Tennessee State, scheduled for Sunday, was cancelled due to lightning and heavy rains. The contest was slated to be the finale of the RedHawk Shootout Soccer Tournament but the match will not be made up. This Week: Miami travels to Evansville for an 8 p.m. (ET) game Friday before returning home to host Indiana State on Sunday at 1 p.m. Sunday's game will be streamed live on Miami All-Access. MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Last Week: For the second straight race, junior Jarrod Eick earned the individual title to Miami to a team victory as the RedHawks won their own Miami Open Saturday at Miami's Western Campus course. The meet is Miami's only home race of the season. The RedHawks finished with 25 points, including taking the top three spots, to win their home meet for the second straight year. (RECAP) (PHOTO GALLERY) This Week: Miami has two weeks off until returning to action Saturday, Sept. 24 at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, La. at 10:45 a.m. ET.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Last Week: RedHawk runners claimed four of the top five spots to lead Miami to a win at its own Miami Open Saturday morning on Miami's Western Campus course. The meet was Miami's only home race of the season.The RedHawks totaled 19 points, placing first, second, third, fifth and eighth, to win the team title. Senior Kelley Miller won the race in 18:11 to earn her first individual cross country title. (RECAP) (PHOTO GALLERY) This Week: The RedHawks head to the Spartan Invitational, hosted by Michigan State, on Friday, Sept. 16 with the race beginning at 1:35 p.m.
FOOTBALL
Last Week: Miami was idle last week. This Week: The RedHawks (0-1) return to the gridiron at Minnesota on Sept. 17. The team is less than two weeks away from its home opener and season tickets are still available by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 513-529-4295 or clicking HERE.
FIELD HOCKEY
Last Week: Battling No. 7 Virginia at home on Friday, Miami (1-5) was edged, 2-1, by a Cavalier goal in the 69th minute. (RECAP) (PHOTO GALLERY) Hosting Michigan State on Sunday, Miami again found itself in a battle but dropped a 2-1 decision to the Spartans. (RECAP) Olivia Miller scored both RedHawk goals last weekend. This Week: Miami hosts William and Mary at 3 p.m. Friday and UC Davis at 1 p.m. Sunday. Friday's game will be streamed live on Miami All-Access. (Subscription necessary to view the event).
GOLF
Last Week: Miami finished 13th among the 16-team field at the Northern Intercollegiate. Brett Tomfohrde was the RedHawks' top finisher, tying for 56th place. (RECAP) This Week: Miami is idle until Sept. 26-27 when the RedHawks compete in the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic in South Bend, Ind.
Miami's softball team travels to Dayton this weekend for fall exhibition games. The Redhawks face Northern Kentucky at 9 a.m. and Morehead State at11:30 a.m. at Dayton and then face Findlay at West Carrollton High School at 4:30 p.m.
