OXFORD, Ohio -- Zac Dysert, Miami's junior quarterback from Ada, Ohio, has been named the Mid-American Conference's East Division Offensive Player of the Week, following the RedHawks' 41-13 victory over Buffalo on Oct. 29.
Dysert completed 80 percent of his passes (20-for-25), throwing for 313 yards and a record-tying five touchdowns. He also tied a season-high mark of 39 rushing yards, giving him 352 total offensive yards.
In addition to his offensive exploits, Dysert also made a touchdown-saving tackle after his only interception of the day. Afterwards, Miami's defense held Buffalo scoreless on four plays from its own five-yard line.
Dysert now has 7,166 career passing yards, ranking second behind only RedHawk legend Ben Roethlisberger (10,829). Zac also became the 21st quarterback in Mid-American Conference history to top the 7,000-yard mark and currently sets in 19th place on that list.
Miami hosts Akron this Thursday night at Yager Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
