Editor's Note: Senior co-captain Jordan Gafford will provide insight on Miami's trip to the GoDaddy.com Bowl in Mobile through a series of journals on MURedHawks.com. While the team is in Oxford, entries will be posted at various intervals, but will appear daily from Mobile.
First things first... yesterday's mustache belongs to one of my favorite people in the entire Miami Football Family. Lyman "Tootie" Wooten is a long time volunteer in the equipment room and he is an all-around awesome guy. He is the proud owner of the 'stache from yesterday.
In this blog I included three more 'staches for you to guess. No hints this time.

Today was a very eventful day. It started with early meetings this morning, followed by a special teams-heavy practice. It was more of a tune-up practice and the guys are ready to go. It seems like it has taken forever for the game to get here. The next two days will be spent taking mental reps and doing whatever we can to get our bodies as ready as possible.
After practice we went to a barbecue restaurant and crushed some ribs, chicken, pork, and mac-n-cheese. I may have to change my weight in the game program because half this blog has been about food. I've probably packed on a couple pounds.
After lunch we went and had a quick lift. This lift was more of a feel-good lift just to get big and feel good. Coach Jackson, our strength coach, is fun and the guys work hard for him.
Following the lift, six of us were able to visit a local children's hospital - Austin Brown, Jordain Brown, Jordan Stevens, Armand Robinson, JoJo Williams, Coach Guidry, and myself. The visit was great. We spent time with children who were sick or injured and most of whom were having extended stays in the hospital. It was great to meet the kids and hopefully put a smile on their face. It really is a blessing to in a position to have a positive influence on the lives of kids and I am so thankful for the opportunity.
The last event of the day was the bowling match between MTSU and Miami. Our guys had spent some time in Oxford preparing for the bowling showdown and I was pleased with our performance. The match put 60 of our players against 60 of MTSU's players. We played two games and the referees are going to add up the scores and see who wins - we won't find out the winner until tomorrow, but we were up over 100 pins after the first game. We took it seriously and definitely were playing to win.
More to come tomorrow! Last day of game prep. Hope all your travels go well and I am excited for the Miami Nation to have a strong presence in Mobile.
Love and Honor,
JG
