OXFORD, Ohio - It's Youth Day this Saturday at Yager Stadium, but there is sure to be lots of fun for adults as well at the Miami-Colorado State pregame festivities at Tailgate Town.
Coach Michael Haywood's football team chases a second consecutive victory as it hosts the CSU Rams from Fort Collins, Colorado. Fans are encouraged to arrive on campus two hours prior to the 3:30 p.m. kickoff so that they can experience the wide variety of family-friendly festivities that will take place.
Youth football will be spotlighted at halftime with three different age groupings--kindergarten through first grade, third grade and fifth grade--entertaining the crowd. The Hamilton Little Blue and Morgan Ross Athletics Association teams will be playing each other.
The Hamilton West Side All-Star Little League team that advanced to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. also will be introduced at the game.
Other special guests of Miami Athletics include the South Dearborn Pee Wee Football League and the Urbana Climbers.
Miami's Tailgate Town is pre-game fun at its best! Interactive games, food, live music and fun are all part of the mix. Tailgate Town opens two hours prior to kick off--1:30 p.m. this Saturday--and is located on the west lawn of Millett Hall, it includes interactive games, live music and fun for all ages.
Never Enuff is a musical group made up of four musicians from bands such as Dangerous Jim and the Slims, Equilibrium, Snow Shoe Crabs and The Pole Cats. Never Enuff performs songs that range from Neil Diamond to Kings of Leon and Beatles to Weezer. Tents and catering options are customized to your specific needs.
Look toward the sky around 3:30 p.m. to see a parachutist deliver the game ball to Yager Stadium turf.
Enjoy the game as a group. Reserve your group package and Tailgate Town experience by calling the Sports Marketing Department at (513) 529-1611.
Single-game ticket prices at Yager Stadium remain the same as last year: $20 for adults, $15 for youth and $15 for the Hawk's Nest (end zone reserved). Tickets can be ordered in person at the Millett Hall Box Office or by phoning 1-866-MUHAWKS (1-866-684-2957) or 513-529-HAWK.
If you can't come to Saturday's game, make plans now to attend the Miami-Kent State football battle on Oct. 2. A special Friends and Family Package includes four game tickets to the game in sections 2 and 6 of Yager Stadium, four McDonald's Extra Value Meal vouchers (redeemable anytime) and four Miami baseball caps (redeemable at either the Eastern Michigan or Kent State game). If bought separately, this package would cost $184, but fans can order the Friends and Family Package in advance for just $39.95.
