OXFORD, Ohio - Are you ready for some Miami RedHawk football? Then Yager Stadium on Saturday, August 21st, at 10 a.m. is where and when you need to be for the annual Pigskin Scrimmage and Cookout.
Head coach Michael Haywood puts his 2010 troops on display for Miami fans in a scrimmage that begins at 10 a.m. and runs for approximately 90 minutes. Fans will get their first look at the returning RedHawk players, including quarterback Zac Dysert, as well as freshmen recruits and several transfer student-athletes.
Shortly after the scrimmage ends, Miami officials will set up the field for autographs and photos. All RedHawk players and coaches will be available to speak to fans and pose for photos. Miami's 2010 football poster will be available to the general public at no charge.
For the younger kids, inflatable games will be set up on the field at the north end of Yager. The RedHawk marketing staff also will have some other surprises in store. In addition, the Miami University Bookstore will be selling an assortment of articles, including hats, clothing and other novelty items.
At 12:30 p.m., the Cookout portion of the event begins under the East Stands of Yager. Hamburgers, hot dogs and other tasty picnic foods, including soft drinks and ice cream, are on the menu at a cost of just $15. Kids five years of age and under will be admitted free of charge.
President David Hodge, athletic director Brad Bates, Haywood and selected Miami players will speak during the program.

If you can't be at Yager Stadium this Saturday, you can still be part of the festivities by tuning in to MSNi, Miami Athletics' internet station.
Steve Baker, Tim Bray and Terry Bridge, the RedHawks' veteran radio broadcast crew, will call all of the action and interview a myriad of guests, including coaches, players and other VIPs.
All you have to do is turn on your computer, tune in to MSNi, put on your RedHawk cap, grab a cold beverage and snacks, and enjoy the action.
