Miami Tennis Rolls to 6-1 Win over Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Miami swept all three doubles matches, then won five of six during singles play to earn a 6-1 victory over Ball State Saturday afternoon. Junior Megan Martzolf extended her record to 17-0 this season by posting a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3.
The RedHawks (11-6, 3-0) jumped out to a 1-0 lead with the doubles win. Riekie Honiball and Cara Wald cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 2, while Martzolf and Stephanie Danesis and Anastasia Dracheva and Sydnee Bridger each posted 8-4 triumphs.
Miami earned singles wins in flights one to five. Dracheva was a 6-2, 6-1 victor, while Honiball took a 6-0, 6-3 win. Wald captured a 6-2, 6-1 victory and Danesis was forced to a third set in a 6-0, 2-6, 6-3 decision.
Ball State's only win came at No. 6 singles as Katherine Rist defeated RedHawk Sydnee Bridger.
