Miami University football's Trevor Cook (Sioux Falls, SD) and Nick Harwell (Missouri City, TX) were named as the Mid-American Conference East Division's respective Special Teams and Offensive Players of the Week for their outstanding games at Bowling Green last Wednesday.
Cook, Miami's senior placekicker, returned from a two-game absence due to a knee injury to kick the 33-yard game-winning field goal at Bowling Green as time expired. He also booted three extra points. Cook is now 11 of 13 this season on field goals.
Harwell, a freshman wide receiver, caught 10 passes for 125 yards and one touchdown in Miami's 24-21 win over Bowling Green. The totals mark his second century receiving game of his career and the second time he has reached double figures in catches. Harwell's 22-yard touchdown grab in the third quarter put Miami up 21-7. He has 43 receptions for 600 yards over the last five games, after making just two catches (15 yards) in his first five games.
It's the second time that Cook and Harwell have been recognized by the MAC in 2010. Cook earned his first Player of the Week honor after his two-field-goal effort in Miami's victory over Kent State. Harwell was the MAC's Player of the Week following his two-touchdown performance vs. Buffalo.
