OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami University takes its perfect 2-0 league record to Mount Pleasant this Saturday as it faces Mid-American Conference power Central Michigan in a huge MAC football battle.
The game will be televised by ESPN-Plus, locally on Cincinnati's WKRC-TV (Ch. 12) and Dayton's WKEF-TV (Ch. 22).
THE COACHES
MIAMI HEAD COACH Michael Haywood (Notre Dame, `86) is in his second season at the helm of the Miami program ... 4-14 overall record, 3-7 MAC record ... served as Fighting Irish offensive coordinator the previous four seasons ... named NCAA Division I-A Assistant Coach of the Year in 2005 by the American Football Coaches Association.
CMU HEAD COACH DAN ENOS (Michigan State, `91) is in his first season guiding the Chippewas and owns a 2-4 overall record at the helm of the program, including a 1-2 mark in the MAC. Among his five stops as an assistant coach are stints at Western Michigan (2000-02) and Cincinnati (2004-05). \
QUICK HITS
1. Coach Michael Haywood'S RedHawks look to improve their MAC record to 3-0 this Saturday. That is something that hasn't happened at Miami since 2007 when it eventually tied for first place in the MAC East.
2. Despite a .500 record, Miami's offensive unit continues to control the football. The RedHawks rank eighth in the nation in time of possession, staying on the field for an average of 33:12 of the 60 minutes. CMU is ranked 35th, nationally, in possession time, averaging 31:07.
3. Saturday marks Miami Football's first trip to Central Michigan since the Clinton administration was in power in 1999. The RedHawks are 6-3-1 in games at Kelly/ Shorts Stadium.
