OXFORD, Ohio -- An intense week of preparation concludes for Miami University's football team tomorrow (Oct. 2) when its hosts Kent State in an important Mid-American Conference game.
Kickoff on Saturday at Yager is 1:05 p.m.
Despite Kent State's 1-2 overall record, Coach Michael Haywood knows how dangerous a team Doug Martin's Golden Flashes can be.
"Kent State had a week off to prepare for us," said Haywood, "but they'll get a totally different look from us this week. We're going to have to show some mental toughness and fight through the bumps and bruises we got last week because Kent State is a solid football team. It's important for us to continue our great start in the MAC ... because our No. 1 goal is to win the MAC championship."
Because of the Golden Flashes' stout defense against the run, quarterback Zac Dysert could launch a full-fledged aerial attack.
Friday is the final opportunity for fans to take advantage of the highly popular Friends and Family ticket package. The special includes includes four game tickets to Saturday's game in sections 2 and 6 of Yager Stadium, four McDonald's Extra Value Meal vouchers (redeemable anytime) and four Miami baseball caps (redeemable at the Kent State game). If bought separately, this package would cost $184, but fans can order the Friends and Family package for just $39.95 until 6 p.m. Friday. The special price will not be available on Saturday.
"Our players are definitely going to be fired up for the Kent State game," said Haywood, "and we need a big crowd at Yager to cheer us on. I encourage families in southwestern Ohio to buy this great Friends and Family Package and show your support for the RedHawks."
Single-game ticket prices at Yager Stadium remain the same as last year: $20 for adults, $15 for youth and $15 for the Hawk's Nest (end zone reserved).
Tickets can be ordered in person at the Millett Hall Box Office or by phoning 1-866-MUHAWKS (1-866-684-2957) or 513-529-HAWK.
