Miami Game Notes
Redshirt freshman wide receiver Andy Cruse and redshirt freshman cornerback David "D.J." Brown made their first-career starts for Miami on Saturday.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Zac Dysert was a perfect 6-of-6 throwing in the first quarter and completed his first seven passes of the game. He was 15-for-19 in the first half and finished the game 33-of-47 (70.2 percent) for 286 yards.
Junior linebacker DeAndre Gilmore grabbed his first-career interception on the final play of the first half and returned it for 30 yards.
Redshirt sophomore defensive back Anthony Kokal set a career high with 13 tackles, including five solo stops. His previous high was 10 tackles in the season opener vs. Kentucky. The 13 tackles tied for game-high honors with Cincinnati's Andre Revels.
Senior running back Andre Bratton hauled in a career-high 11 receptions for a career-best 90 yards. He also caught a touchdown in the third quarter, which was his first-career receiving touchdown. His previous best receiving effort was nine catches for 54 yards against Cincinnati last year. Bratton's 11 catches are a season high for any RedHawk this season.
Redshirt junior wide receiver Armand Robinson nabbed a career-high 10 catches for 100 yards. He has collected at least nine receptions in each of his last three games and has had at least 95 yards receiving in each of those games as well. With his 115 receiving yards last week at Kent State, he has over 100 yards in each of his last two games and became the first RedHawk receiver to post back-to-back 100-yard games since Ryne Robinson did so Aug. 31 and Sep. 9 of 2006.
Redshirt senior wide receiver Brayden Coombs caught a career-high four passes, three for first downs, for 46 yards. The four catches equaled his career total from his first three years at Miami.
Cincinnati defeated Miami for the fourth straight year, marking the first time the Bearcats have won that many in a row against the RedHawks since 1986-1989.
Miami earned more first downs than its opponent for the third straight game. The RedHawks also possessed the ball for more than twice the time Cincinnati had the ball (40:51 to 19:09). Miami had the ball for nearly 10 more minutes than last week's opponent, Kent State.
The 10th-ranked Bearcats are the highest-ranked team to ever play in Yager Stadium.
Today's attendance of 23,493 is the largest crowd since Miami remodeled Yager Stadium in 2004, lowering capacity to 24,286. It is the largest crowd since Nov. 12, 2003 against Marshall when 26,286 people filled Yager Stadium.
