Daniel Raudabaugh ended the game with 235 yards on 28-of-42 passing with two touchdowns and one interception. His two scoring strikes tie a career high, which he has now accomplished four times, last against Buffalo in 2007.
Raudabaugh now has 3,696 career passing yards, moving him past Larry Fortner for seventh place on the all-time Miami career passing yardage list.
Sophomore Jamal Rogers totaled 128 yards on seven kick returns against UC. That performance takes him from fifth to second place on the all-time career kick-off return yardage list. Rogers passed Milt Stegall (MU letterman 1988-91) for second place. Stegell just became the Canadian Football League's all-time receiving yardage leader last week.
The RedHawks' 74 offensive plays were a season-best. Their previous season-high came at Michigan when the Red and White controlled the ball for 72 plays.
Miami's 13 first-half points were the most by the RedHawks this season. The Red and White totaled 10 first-half points against both Vanderbilt and Charleston Southern. Clayton Mullins had his second double-digit tackle performance of the season. The senior had 10 stops against the Bearcats.
Miami had 4.0 tackles for loss against the Bearcats with Ben Bennett and Martin Channels each totaling 1.5. Joey Hudson and Morris Council each had a half-tackle for loss.
Martin Channels had 1.5 tackles for loss, bringing his season total to 3.5. Channels had a career-high in 2007 with 5.5 tackles for loss.
The RedHawks had a 34:57-to-23:40 advantage in time of possession against UC. Miami held a 17:10-to-12:50 advantage in time of possession in the first half.
Jake Richardson's first punt of the night traveled 55-yards. His next punt in the third quarter went 42 yards. The senior boomed a 51-yarder in the fourth quarter to pin the Bearcats back at their own 16-yard line, while his final punt of the night was a 49-yarder.
Richardson entered the game as the NCAA's leader in punting average at 51.64 yards per punt. After totaling 196 yards on four punts against the Bearcats, Richardson's season average is now 50.83.
Nate Parseghian's 41-yard field goal as the first half expired is one yard short of a career long. It was the 22nd field goal of his career. He is now 7-of-8 on the year and 22-of-34 at Miami. Parseghian's career long came on a 42-yard field goal at Vanderbilt in 2007. He converted on a 19-yard attempt in the second quarter against Cincinnati to open Miami's scoring.
Raudabaugh's 37-yard touchdown completion to Chris Givens at the 10:10 mark of the third quarter was Givens' first scoring catch of the season. The completion and Parseghian's extra point closed the gap to 24-20 in favor of Cincinnati.
Miami successfully executed an onside kick on the ensuing kick-off. DeAndre Gilmore recovered Parseghian's kick at the UC 46-yard line. It was the RedHawks' first onside kick attempt of the season.
Daniel Raudabaugh connected with Armand Robinson for a 10-yard touchdown pass to make the score 17-10 Cincinnati, with 6:26 remaining in the second quarter. It was Raudabaugh's third touchdown pass of the season, his 12th completion of the game, and Robinson's second touchdown reception of 2008.
Raudabaugh led the RedHawks 48 yards in 1:08 to close out the first half with a 41-yard Parseghian field goal that made the score 24-13, Cincinnati, at the half.
On fourth-and two at the Bearcat 35-yard line on the final drive of the first half, Raudabaugh connected with Andre Bratton for 10 yards. It was Miami's second fourth-down conversion of the season. The first came in the season-opener against Vanderbilt. Miami was unsuccessful in converting a fourth down and six with just over 12 minutes remaining in the game.
Raudabaugh converted on four-straight third downs to open the second half. The redshirt junior converted third downs of seven, four, six and three yards with completions to Eugene Harris, and three to Bratton for gains of 15, eight, six and four yards, respectively.
Morris Council recovered a Bearcat fumble at the Miami 40-yard line to stop a Bearcat drive with 11 minutes remaining in the game. The recovery was the first of his career.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Clay Belton made his third appearance of the season late in the fourth quarter, going 0-for-2 passing.
