Miami Baseball Inks Six on National Signing Day

OXFORD, Ohio - Miami Baseball added six members to the program on Wednesday as Mason Reynolds, Nate Bowles, Brian Krolikowski, Brooks Fiala, and Cory Klenke all signed national letters of intent, Head Coach Dan Simonds announced Wednesday.
Biographical sketches on the players follow:
Mason Reynolds
6-5, 185, RHP, West Carrollton, Ohio (West Carrollton)
A first-team All-Southwest Ohio League selection... played for the Champions Elite All Star Team... was 3-1 with one save... struck out 24 and walked 12 in 34 innings of works... posted a 2.47 ERA.
Coach Simonds on Reynolds: "Mason has a prototypical pitchers body and is very projectable. He has command of three above-average pitches with a plus fastball. We had the opportunity to see Mason very early in the recruiting process and felt he fit the profile of a top-level pitcher. It should be a lot of fun to see how he progresses."
Nate Bowles
5-11, 180, Catcher, Dayton, Ohio (Strebbins)
A first-team All-CBC selection... hit .487 with six doubles and foru triples as a junior... was also perfect on eight stolen base attempts... plays for Patterson Park Classics Summer Organization... a member of the Champions Academy all-star team.
Coach Simonds on Bowles: "Nate Bowles reminds me in so many ways of former Miami baseball catcher John Slone. He is a very athletic catcher who runs extremely well. We feel he is one of the better catch-and-throw guys in the state of Ohio. We are looking forward to developing his skills."
Brian Krolikowski
6-2, 220, RHP, Batavia, Ill. (Batavia)
Rated No. 26 in the state by Prep Baseball Report Illinois... Stands 25th in the rankings by Perfect Game Crosschecker... an all-conference and second team all-area selection... Underclass All State ... posted a 5-3 record with a 2.01 ERA... hit .407 with 12 home runs and 42 RBIs... voted a team captain... defeated the Florida Bombers in the Jupiter World Series, striking out six and allowing just two hits.
Coach Simonds on Krolikowski: "Brian is one of the top power arms in the state of Illinois. He has command of three pitches and has achieved a high level of success for one of the premier summer programs in the Midwest (Illinois Sparks). Brian has the capability of filling a significant role immediately. Above everything else, he is a quality student."
Cory Klenke
6-2, 185, shortstop, Coldwater, Ohio (Coldwater)
A three-time first-team all-conference and Dream Team selection in baseball... was the recipent of three All-Academic Awards... played 2007 summer ball with GTI... was named the team's Best Defensive Player... rated No. 2 in the state (334th nationally) by Crosschecker... also earned all-conference honors in basketball (twice) and football (four times)... named Player of the Week honors from Channel 7 and Fox 45... was MVP of the football state championship game as a junior
Coach Simonds on Klenke: "We identified Cory as one of our top recruits during the summer of his sophomore year. He is a gifted athlete that brings the essential intangibles each time he takes the field. He is an above average hitter with excellent power potential and possesses a blue collar approach to hard work and competition ... We are looking forward to his impact on our program."
Brooks Fiala
6-3, 175, RHP/Infielder, Carmel, Ind. (Carmel)
Played for the prestigious Indiana Bulls Baseball organization as a sophomore and junior... earned three varsity letters at Carmel High School... ranked as the No. 4 prospect in the state and the No. 2 two-way prospect by Indiana Prep Baseball Report... selected All-Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference (MIC) as a sophomore and junior... named to the Noblesville Daily Times All-Hamilton County Team, the Indianapolis Star All-North Team and the Hoosier Diamond Pre-Season All -State First Team as a junior... picked to play for Team Indiana in the Mid-West Classic Baseball Tournament... as a junior shortstop, hit .416 with four doubles, three triples, 10 homeruns, 29 RBIss, 31 runs and an .854 slugging percentage... amed a Carmel High School "Scholar Athlete"... is a member of the National Honor Society (two years)... is a member of the Carmel High School Student Athletic Board for two years... participated as a Mentor in the Carmel NCAA Ambassador Cross-Age Mentoring Program as a junior and senior
Coach Simonds on Fiala: "Brooks Fiala became an instant priority for us because of his ability both on the mound and as a position player. The staff is confident Brooks will immediately contribute as a two-way player. He has an above average fastball and changeup and will bring power and athleticism to our lineup. We are excited about his potential."
