Miami Football Names Clayton Mullins Team MVP for 2007

OXFORD - Clayton Mullins, Miami University's leading tackler this past season, has been named as RedHawk football's Most Valuable Player for 2007. The presentation was made Sunday (Jan. 20) at the team's annual football banquet, held at MU's Shriver Center.
Mullins, a junior linebacker who hails from Fairborn High School, was named the Mid-American Conference's Defensive Player of the Year last November. He was the MAC's top tackler last fall, totaling 143 stops, an average of 11 per game.
Coach Shane Montgomery's 2007 squad recorded a 6-7 overall record, sharing the MAC East Division title and earning a berth in the MAC Championship Game at Detroit's Ford Field for the third time in the last five years.
