The Miami University women's tennis team grabbed four of the six singles matches and two-of-three doubles yesterday, knocking off Murray State, 5-2, in Paducah, Ky. The win ended a two-match slide for the RedHawks and improved their season record to 4-7.

Linda Jirouskova (Milevska, Czech Republic/Gymnazium Milevsko) and Kelly Douple (Dayton, OH/Centerville) took the No. 2 and No. 4 singles matches in three sets, while Kristen McPhillips (Willoughby, OH/Hathaway Brown) took her match in the No. 5 slot in straight sets.

In double action, Leda Pestova (Podlesi, Czech Republic/Frydlant NAd Ostr-Gymnazium) and Victoria Pulido (Cuernavaca, Mexico/ITESM-Morelos) pulled out a close 9-7 decision in No. 2 doubles, while Douple and her partner McPhillips cruised to an 8-4 decision at No. 3.

Douple now leads Miami with six individual wins on the season.

The RedHawks take on Southern Illinois Sunday in Paducah at 10 a.m. ET.
