- After giving up a touchdown on its opening drive of the game, Miami's defense did not allow another Buckeye touchdown in the first half. OSU's second TD of the half came on an interception return.

- With two fourth-quarter touchdowns, Miami avoided being shut out for the first time since 1993. Since head coach Shane Montgomery arrived as offensive coordinator in 2001, the RedHawks have been held under 10 points in a game only twice.
