John Busing and Martin Nance Named Miami Football Team Captains

OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami University head football coach Shane Montgomery announced Friday that senior linebacker John Busing (Alpharetta, Ga./Chattahoochee) and senior wide receiver Martin Nance (Maryland Heights,Mo./Pattonville) have been selected by their teammates as team captains for the upcoming 2005 season.
As permanent team captains, Nance and Busing will represent Miami at each pregame coin toss this season and will be joined by two other game captains, who will be be selected on a game-by-game basis. At the conclusion of the season, two more permanent captains will be selected.
"These are two outstanding individuals who have been honored by their teammates with the special responsibility of being team captains," Montgomery said. "Martin Nance has been an integral part of our offense and was a great leader by example in demonstrating his true character and work ethic while rehabilitating from last season's injury. John Busing represents everything that this program stands for. He's a hard worker who leads the way from the playing field to the classroom. "
