RedHawk Tennis Falls in Opener at Louisville, 6-1

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Miami University's women's tennis team (0-1) had its hands full in its spring season opener Saturday evening, falling at the University of Louisville 6-1 despite some hard-fought performances.
Newcomer Kelly Douple (Dayton, OH/Centerville), recorded Miami's only win in the match, rallying to defeat the Cardinals' Suzanna Gracanin (3-6, 6-4, 10-8) in her debut at No. 5 singles. Sophomore Linda Jirouskova (Milevsko, Czech Republic /Gymnazium Milevsko) had a strong showing at No. 1 singles before falling to Louisville's Leslie Stewart in three sets (4-6, 6-1, 12-10).
Louisville (2-0) swept all three doubles matches and captured the remaining four singles matches in straight sets. Complete match results follow:
