Miami Volleyball Team Falls to Akron

AKRON, Ohio - Despite putting forth a solid effort against Akron at James A. Rhodes Arena, the Miami volleyball team fell in three games to the Zips, 12-15, 10-15 and 14-16. Miami falls to 10-18 overall and 6-11 in the MAC. Akron improves to 15-14 overall and 10-7 in league action.
The RedHawks received solid performances from several players, paced by Amy Pfohl's 10-kill, 10-dig double-double. Pfhol also recorded a .389 hitting percentage. Susan Poll posted 14 kills, four blocks and a .314 hitting percentage, and Kelly McCullough notched 13 kills, eight digs and six blocks. Lee Ann Karr added 10 kills and eight digs, while Summer Clouse contributed 55 assists, 11 digs and two service aces. Mindy Clark notched a team-best 16 digs.
Akron had four players record double-doubles led by Ashlie Case's 25-kill, 23-dig performance.
Miami concludes its season Saturday night (Nov. 18) at Kent State.
