RedHawks Announce 1999 Team Awards at Annual Banquet

Prentice, who established seven NCAA records this season, became the Mid-American Conference all-time leader in rushing and all-purpose yardage this season as he rushed for 1,659 yards and scored 21 touchdowns during the 1999 campaign. A holder of 35 Miami records and a two-time MAC Offensive Player of the Week recipient, Prentice is among the NCAA career leaders in rushing (fifth), scoring (first), touchdowns (first) and all-purpose yardage (12th). Prentice finished his stellar career with 5,596 yards rushing and 468 points.
Cohen ranks among Miami's all-time leaders in tackles (seventh), pass sacks (fourth), sack yards (fourth), tackles for loss (seventh) and tackles for loss yards (eighth). Named MAC Defensive Player of the Week on two occasions, Cohen tied the NCAA Division I-A mark (four) for Most Interception Returns for a Touchdown by a Linebacker. Cohen has been invited to participate in the 2000 East-West Shrine Classic and 2000 Hula Bowl-Maui Classic all-star games.
Junior Mike Bath (Celina, Ohio/Celina) earned the Outstanding Junior award as he guided the RedHawk offense to a record-setting year. Bath established Miami single-season marks for passing yardage (2,523 yards) and passing touchdowns (24) while ranking among the nation's top 30 quarterbacks all season in pass efficiency. Bath also tied Miami's single-season mark with seven 200-yard or more passing performances, including a Miami single-game record 352 yards versus Cincinnati on October 30.
Junior Andy Aracri (Kettering, Ohio/Fairmont) was named the Most Valuable Defensive Lineman for the second consecutive year. Aracri led the MAC in tackles for loss and fourth on the team in tackles (89).
Chris Huelsman (St. Henry, Ohio/St. Henry), Bob Beinecke (Youngstown, Ohio/Liberty), Kevin Williams (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) and Bryan McCullough (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) earned the Alumni Senior Scholar Athlete awards as they all finished their Miami careers with a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
Junior Kent McCullough (Coraopolis, Pa./West Allegheny) was named the Outstanding Specialist on the 1999 squad. McCullough finished the season with an average of 38.2 yards per punt while taking over the kickoff duties midway through the season.
Junior Steve Orsak (Dublin, Ohio/Scioto) earned the Outstanding Walk-On Award and freshman Scott Sagehorn (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) took home the Outstanding Freshman award for his tremendous duties as the long-snapper for the RedHawks.
