Vivian "Chief" Crawford

Vivian Crawford was a "triple-threat" star as he helped run, pass and kick Miami's football teams from 1914-16 to a record of 18-5-1. he was selected all-Ohio as a fullback his junior and senior years as his career totals included 18 touchdowns, nine PATs and a field goal. Three of his teammates are also members of Miami's Athletic Hall of Fame in Earl "Red" Blaik, Marvin "Monk" Pierce and George Munns.

He also earned letters as a third baseman for Miami's baseball teams of 1915 and 1916 that compiled a record of 16-5. Crawford was a charter member of Sigma Delta Psi and elected to Red Cowl honor society.

Following graduation, he played professional football for Akron. He died in 1961 in Washington Court House.
