Otten remains one of Miami University volleyball's career record holders for kills and digs (by a non-libero). One of just seven players to surpass 1,000 career kills and digs during that time, Otten compiled an impressive 1,528 kills and 1,467 digs. During her career, she also ranked among Miami's top five in career digs per set, kills per set and service aces. Additionally, she ranks among Miami's single-season top-10 in service aces, kills and kills per set.
Otten was a two-time All-MAC selection for the Red and White, earning first-team honors in 1995 and second-team distinction in 1994. She also was a two-time MAC All-Tournament Team selection (1994, 1995).
She spearheaded Miami to the first of four straight MAC regular-season titles in 1995 and helped Miami to postseason berths in the 1994 NIVC and 1995 NCAA Tournament. The 1995 team became the first in Mid-American Conference history to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and went on to earn a No. 24 ranking in the final RPI while compiling a 15-2 MAC record and a 24-7 overall mark.
As a senior, Otten was tabbed the Leann Grimes Davidge Memorial Award recipient.
