Catalano was a five-time Mid-American Conference champion for Miami University women's tennis. Catalano seized titles at No. 1 singles in 1993 and No. 2 singles in 1992. She teamed up with Amy Boyle to capture MAC titles at No. 1 doubles in 1991 and 1992, while also winning a MAC crown at No. 1 doubles with Brooke Bruder in 1993. She was undefeated in MAC doubles action for three straight years (1991-93).

A member of three MAC championship teams in 1991, 1992 and 1993, Catalano also earned First-Team All-MAC distinction all three of those years. She was Miami's NCAA Woman of the Year in 1993, making her Miami's nomination for the national award, and was the recipient of the ITA Midwest Region Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship Award winner.

Additionally, Catalano was a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree, who twice earned the MAC Commissioner's Award and was named Miami's Leann Grimes Davidge Award recipient in 1993. Noted as Miami's top award for an upperclass female student-athlete, the Leann Grimes Davidge Award is presented in honor of the former Miami women's tennis coach and recognizes outstanding female student-athletes who have excelled in athletics, academics and leadership.
