Nancy Sturgeon

Sturgeon was a three-sport athlete for field hockey, basketball and tennis from 1948-52, nearly three decades before Title IX was passed. In 2009 Sturgeon was finally honored, receiving letters in all three sports.
Sturgeon was also Miami's head tennis coach for two years and an active member of Miami University. She taught continuing education classes, was the fencing club and Shakerettes advisor, designed and taught aquatics to go along with many other activities that demonstrated her leadership.
She was a 2019 Butler County Hall of Fame inductee as well.Â
