During her career, Abbitt also placed her named on eight single-season charts and is the single-season record holder for hits (74 in 1991) and triples (6 in 1991).

As a junior in 1990, she helped Miami to a program record 36 wins, the first 30-win season for the Red and White, and followed with a 34-win season as a senior in 1991, marking the only time in program history with back-to-back 30-win seasons. Twice she was honored as an All-Mid-American Conference selection, earning second-team honors in 1990 and 1991. Abbitt also was a standout in the classroom, garnering Academic All-MAC accolades three times and being tabbed a CoSIDA Academic All-American in 1991, the only Miami softball player to earn Academic All-America recognition.
