Kevin Northup was a seven-time MAC champion during his swimming career at Miami, winning the 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly in both the 1998 and 1999 seasons, capturing the 200 IM in 1997, 1998 and 1999, and setting several conference and meet records.
He was named MAC Swimmer of the Year in 1999 and won All-American honors, finishing seventh in the 100 fly and 14th in the 200 fly at the national meet.
The Miami men finished 23rd in the country as a team in 1999. Northup led the Red and White to league championships in 1997 and 1999 and was named first-team All-MAC in 1997, 1998 and 1999.
